My name is Alice Catalani and I am a Feline Relationship Consultant, a figure comparable to the dog educator, but dedicated to promoting a happy coexistence between cats and humans through the interpretation of feline behaviour, education on its ethological characteristics, and mediation between human and feline species.
I live in Como and offer home consultations in Lombardy and Ticino to cat owners who wish to better understand their feline friends, in critical situations – as in the case of needs outside the litter box, aggression or conflicts between cats – or simply to set up a serene and mutually satisfying cohabitation. For those who live outside the area, I also carry out video counselling for less complex cases.
My love for cats was born on my first four-legged steps and continued from childhood to adolescence, from adolescence to adulthood, through the cats that accompanied me growing up and the life lessons learnt from each one. Right down to him, Terry, the irresistible tigerish protagonist of these pages.
Equally fascinated by the beauty of felines as by the complexity of the human mind, after humanistic university studies and a career in communication, I decided to devote myself to what I really loved. Them, the cats, but also the magic of a bond, that between animals and felines, as ancient as it is still full of questions. All this without neglecting the subject of my studies, Communication, a crucial factor in the relationship between living beings and even more so between different species.
Thanks to SIUA, Roberto Marchesini’s school of zooanthropology, I have carried out in-depth scientific studies on the mind and behaviour of these animals, with an approach based on the centrality of the relationship and free from anthropocentrism. With the Italian School of Floritherapy, and in particular through the supervision and teaching of Laura Cutullo, a veterinary doctor and expert in homeopathy, I deepened my knowledge of the healing power of flower essences on animals (and people) by successfully introducing them into my consultations. Finally, through practising and teaching yoga, I am able to enter a state of calm on a daily basis and thus offer a safe space of listening and understanding to human and feline families.
Alice Guarda I Gatti was born from all this: my experience, knowledge and sensitivity put at the service of anyone who lives with a small feline and wants to start looking at the world through its eyes. So if you have a problem with your kitty or kittens, if you are about to adopt one and would like to know more, I am here to guide you in discovering the feline mind.
